Panama's Town In Transition Creates An Opportunity
July 7, 2011, Penonome, Panama: Penonome, Panama, is a traditional Panamanian town in transition, an affordable retirement choice, and an investment opportunity.
Dear Live and Invest Overseas Reader,
"Penonome is both a town and a district," writes Panama Letter Editor Lee Zeltzer.
"It is also the capital of Cocle, the province that includes the beach communities strung along Panama's Pacific coast just outside Panama City. Cocle, first settled in 1581, was named after a local indigenous chief executed by the Spanish. 'Peno Nome' means 'Nome was executed,' an interesting name for an interesting region.
