Punta Chame and Chame comprise two towns that, despite their proximity and similar name, sit in stark contrast to one another. Chame is a roadside town by definition; Punta Chame is a white-sand beach getaway. These are a couple of the first communities you come across in Panama’s City Beach Area, an hour or two west from the capital along the Pan-American.
In the past decade or so, many of the other cities and communities in the City Beach Area have seen their expat communities grow, especially in Coronado. Meanwhile, Chame and Punta Chame remain less penetrated by the expat influx.
