“Kathleen, my name is Blair, and my wife Marcia and I are both retired and living in Florida. We have been reading your emails and have talked and may be interested in a rental property in a country that has warn weather like Florida and the people speak English. Am interested in at least a month or maybe two depending on how we like the area, etc. It must be furnished. Can you help or suggest a country we may like?”

Based on the criteria you’ve prioritized (Florida-like weather and English-speaking folks), I’d recommend Belize. If you want to be on the water, look at Ambergris Caye, where it’d be easy to find a furnished rental for a month or two. If you’re up for a jungle adventure, you could spend at least part of your time in this country’s interior Cayo region. Here furnished rentals are a little harder to come by (there just aren’t that many of them of a standard most expat retirees are looking for). On the other hand, they’re also much cheaper.
Enjoy your trip!
