Electrical Outlets In Latin America

Electrical Outlets In Latin America

“Just a quick question about power. Do they use European outlets in Central America, and is it 110 or 220 volts?

“I’d like to bring a small ham radio and power supply and my laptop and want to make sure that I have the correct connections with me.”

— Dennis C., United States

Nicaragua, Panama, and, in fact, all of Central America and most of South America use U.S.-type outlets and 120-volt electricity.

The exceptions are some countries that use the round European prongs and Argentina and Uruguay, which use the V-form flat prongs.
