Farming In Belize’s Maya Spring Estates In Cayo

“Kathleen, I have enjoyed your and Lief’s letters for several years now. At some point, I may want to attend a seminar and become a part-time resident somewhere else besides California. As it turns out, we are going to Belize next month but will be gone before your conference begins. First trip, very excited, going to San Pedro and San Ignacio and maybe somewhere else.

“Just curious where your property is near San Ignacio. Seems like I read that it is a development with lots for sale? We will have a car so might like to have a look. Also, am toying with opening a foreign bank account. Any suggestions for one in Belize and how big a hassle it is?

“Finally, as a CPA, I am horrified by the chilling news that a passport can be revoked for non-payment of income taxes. What could possibly go wrong there?

“Friends of ours live near your project in Panama. We were there in 2012, and the area is spectacular. Hope to return sometime.

“Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”
