The typical real estate commission in Belize is 10%, but you should be able to negotiate a better rate depending on the property and the price. For example, if you’re selling a US$70,000 house, the commission would likely be 10% with no discussion. However, if you’re selling a US$500,000 house, you should be able to negotiate the rate down. I’d say that the smallest commission you could expect to negotiate would be 5%.
