“Just a reminder that each issue of the Overseas Retirement Letter now covers the topic of access for the disabled.
“Loja in Ecuador (in the Southern Sierra region not far from Vilcabamba and Cuenca) was featured in the April issue of ORL. Here’s what our report said about disabled access in that city, for example:
“‘Access for the handicapped is not up to North American standards. You will find curb ramps at many intersections but not everywhere in the city. Government buildings are pretty good with access, but not perfect. With other businesses, it’s hit or miss.'”
