10 Most Livable Cities


Lucy Culpepper – Melbourne, Australia is the world’s most livable city, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (eui.com). The EUI analyzed 140 cities for stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

Each of the five factors was rated as acceptable, tolerable, uncomfortable, undesirable, or intolerable; the results provide a ranking of all the cities that took part.

The EUI’s top ten most livable cities in 2013 are:

1. Melbourne, Australia
2. Vienna, Austria
3. Vancouver, Canada
4. Toronto, Canada
5. Calgary, Canada
6. Adelaide, Australia
7. Sydney, Australia
8. Helsinki, Finland
9. Perth, Australia
10. Auckland, New Zealand
