First Flight Arrives To Panama’s Pacific Beaches

Joey Bonura – More than 170 tourists have officially arrived to Panama’s new Scarlet Martinez International Airport.
A few weeks ago we covered the announcement of the flight and now it is a reality. The charter flight came from Canada on Fly Sunwing carrying 170 passengers ready to hit the beach.

The airport is located in Rio Hato, which is near Panama’s Pacific beach communities. It’s hoped that with an airport that people can fly directly into near the beach there will be an increase in tourism for the region.
This is the first flight to arrive to the airport after being inaugurated in November 2013 after a US$53 million renovation.

Within the next few months they hope to increase flights to one a week and then eventually four a week.
