Rainy Season Set To End Early

0

We’re in for less rain this year, according to the director of the Civil Defense Agency, with rains ending mid-November, as opposed to late December or early January. The country is forecast to continue receiving rain, but not the high winds or torrential pours recording thus far in 2015.

Less rain has some folks worried, as low levels of rain can spell draught, as it did earlier this year, causing a state of emergency to be declared. Less rain affects some regions more than others, for example, the agricultural Azuero region has many farms threatened by a lack of rain that has been blamed on the El Niño phenomenon.
