It’s a deal Lief has personally bought into… In fact, it may be time to invest again because as he revealed yesterday, before catching a flight to Panama for the event he was with Kathleen in Paris celebrating the arrival of their second grandchild.
Another of Lief’s investments—a parcel of land in Canada—was originally earmarked for a quick flip… but things changed and 20 years on, when Lief was going to put it back on the market, his son had a better idea… a father-son project to build a family cabin.
Lief’s hands-off, easy earner has evolved into a family legacy undertaking—a return on investment he’s more than happy with.
If the retirement dream becomes a reality, well and good. But should plans change as plans so often do, they’ll still have been banking rental income in the interim and if they choose to sell up, any capital appreciation can fund their new retirement dream whatever it may be.
That tied into what was perhaps the most important piece of advice shared yesterday: don’t wait for the best deal. You’ll end up waiting forever. Prices will rise and fall and rise again. If you keep waiting to take the leap, chances are you’ll miss the boat entirely.
