Sharon Lord was born and raised in the Midwest and then attended college in Nashville, TN. Eager to hit the workforce, she withdrew after two years and earned her real estate license at 19, working both resale and new home sales. She moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 2002, where she met her husband, Nathan. Married in 2010, she is “second mom” to two now-adult sons.

Sharon caught the international travel bug early, visiting Costa Rica, The Bahamas, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Belize, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Tahiti, and Jamaica, sometimes solo. Her first visit to Ambergris Caye, Belize, was in 2002, and the island stuck with her soul; she brought Nathan to the island in 2014 and they were soon on the hunt for land, with long-term goals to expatriate. That time came in 2024, with both sons on their own, they and their three cats bought one-way tickets to paradise.

Over the previous 10 years, they have invested in property at Secret Beach and a villa just north of the bridge in San Pedro, where they reside until their beach home is built.
