Where Is Los Islotes?
Los Islotes is found near the southern tip of the Veraguas Province in south-central Panama. It lies on the west coast of the Azuero Peninsula, a large piece of land that juts out into the Pacific Ocean.
The west coast of the Azuero Peninsula is little-known… not even many Panamanians are familiar with it or have traveled here. It’s far more rugged and untouched than the east coast of the Azuero, which has several popular towns (like Chitré, Las Tablas, and Pedasí).
The most developed area on the west coast is Torio, which is about a 30-minute drive north of Los Islotes. It has a fairly developed expat community, made up of mostly retirees, although younger folks are starting to move in.
You won’t have much trouble getting to know other expats in the area. A group of 20 to 30 people get together for trivia and themed game nights at different restaurants.

What’s There To Do At Los Islotes?
All kinds of activities are available on-site at Los Islotes, which was designed with community and comfort in mind.
Hiking, hill-top yoga, horse-back riding, paddleboarding in the estuary while trying to spot monkeys, barbecuing at the beach, kayaking, taking on the waves at Surfer’s Beach, volleyball, or simply swinging in a hammock… There are plenty of ways to have fun at Los Islotes.
The property is on a prime piece of real estate that boasts two beaches: Playa del Sol with calm waters ideal for swimming and Surfer’s Beach with powerful crashing waves. Here you find Panama Jack’s Beach Bar, a well-equipped outpost and the perfect place to watch the sunset.
There’s also an estuary with a dock next to Mango Village where you can launch a kayak or paddleboard. Lined by mangroves with crystal-clear waters, the estuary is the best place to spot sea turtles gliding through the calm waters and capuchin monkeys swinging through the trees overhead.
Nature thrives in this unspoiled part of the world. Just offshore, you can go fishing or scuba dive or snorkel. You can even go whale watching in season. And without any light pollution, Los Islotes offers unmatched stargazing opportunities.
