Kundasang: The "New Zealand of the East"
Kundasang is a small town located in Malaysian Borneo, about 6km from the Kinabalu National Park and inhabited mainly by the local Dusun and a population of Chinese residents.
Places of interest in Kundasang include the Kundasang War Memorial created to commemorate the fallen allied soldiers of WWII (mostly Australian and British) who died during the death marches of 1945. The memorial contains four interlocking but separate gardens connected by a reflection pool. Kundasang also has a beautiful, yet challenging, 18-hole golf course with steep slopes and ever present winds.
There are those that say Kundasang has areas that will make you feel like you are in New Zealand. The rolling hills, cool climate and large green fields with dairy cows grazing past will transport you a faraway land. You can even milk a cow if you like.

The best months to visit Kundasang is between April and October, during the dry season. The weather is usually stable and enjoyable, with clear skies, sunny days, and cool nights.
